Sugar Molds

Panaleras (Sugar Molds), have been used for centuries throughout Latin America to store cane sugar used for sweetening, candy making, and distilling tequila. The sugar cane is pressed to remove the sweet pulp inside, rendered down to a flowable liquid by heating, and then poured into the molds and allowed to cool. These hand painted pieces from Guatemala are wonderful, functional accent pieces that can hold everything from candles to M&Ms.
