Bolivian Moreno Dance Mask
Retail Price: $249.00
After the conquest, slaves were imported for heavy work in Bolivia. The Morenada depicts these black Ethiopians with a cast of characters including workers, women, a captain, and a king. It is part of the festival of the Senor del Gran Poder held in La Paz each year. A full-size, very well made mask with full foam-rubber padding on the inside. Definitely made for the parade-- not for tourists. Could have been used once, but condition is almost perfect. There are three feather holders in the crown. Fully functional
Made out of old gas cans this tin mask was nickel plated, which makes it a nicer mask for a dancer to own.
