Product Description
Fish design - perfect for the beach house, cabin, or sportsman's den! Entirely handmade, crafted from recycled metal in Haiti.
Our artists prosper through their own hard work, your purchases, and our practice of fair trade.
This sculpture has been finished with a clear enamel coating, which will protect it from the elements. However, if it is displayed outdoors, we recommend applying a spray-on clear coat in order to maintain it's fresh-out-of the box look. Five minutes once a year is all it takes. Easy! Following four generations of tradition, each piece of Haitian metal art is made entirely by hand with simple tools. Starting with a cast-off steel drum, the metal is cleaned, sanded, and pounded flat.
From there, the artist chalks his design onto the metal and then begins the heavy, tedious work of cutting out the pattern with a hammer and chisel and giving the piece detail and dimension. Finally, he applies a clear-coat to the piece, which protects it and makes it perfectly suited for indoor or outdoor display.

I am an Haitian metal artist and a voodoo priest. I was born on March 28th,1986 in an artist village name Noailles, in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haïti. I started working as a metal artist when I was 13 years old and my first work was a little mermaid. I worked with my brother Balan and he taught me a lot about the metal before I had my own Shop. It was very difficult for me to go to school and work. — I love to explore nature. I have a good relationship with the trees where I use my imagination. Sometimes my spirits help me a lot when I am tracing the arts on the metal for the initial design. —
