Product Description
Beautifully handwoven Shigras from Ecuador. Made by indigenous artisans from the Andean region of "Cotopaxi". Shigras are made with "Cabuya" a fiber from the Agave plant. Artisans say that they "do not know" how long it takes to make these unique pieces of Folk Art, as women take their work around and hand weave only a little bit at a time. One Shigra may take months to be completed
