Product Description
This exquisite vintage Guatemalan huipil from Sololá is a stunning example of traditional Mayan textile artistry. Measuring approximately 53" x 33", this ceremonial tzute (cloth) was handwoven on a backstrap loom in three panels and joined with a decorative randa.
The base cloth features the rare, natural brown cotton known as ixcaco, interwoven with rich multi-colored threads and purple stripes. The result is a textile that beautifully reflects Guatemala’s heritage and the craftsmanship of Sololá’s skilled weavers.
With its fine detail, earthy tones, and historical significance, this piece makes a striking wall hanging, table textile, or collector’s item. Each stitch carries the artistry and cultural legacy of generations of Mayan women.
