Product Description
This beautiful vintage handwoven Guatemalan huipil features richly detailed geometric brocade patterns in vibrant jewel-tone colors across the upper portion, contrasted by a deep, dark cotton lower section. Made on a traditional backstrap loom, the textile showcases the incredible artistry and complexity of Mayan weaving.
Constructed from two woven panels, this huipil includes a V-neck opening measuring 18", which can be easily enlarged to accommodate a wider fit. The arm openings can also be carefully adjusted if needed. The cotton used in this piece is heavier and substantial, giving the garment a strong, durable feel.
This huipil is previously worn, bearing the soft signs of use typical of an authentic vintage garment. It remains a striking example of Guatemalan traditional clothing—perfect for wear, collection, or display as textile art.
