Product Description
1990s Vintage Oaxacan Alebrije Goat – Signed by Angel Cruz Solis
This authentic hand-carved alebrije goat dates to the 1990s and originates from La Unión Tejalapam, Oaxaca, a region known for its early and traditional wood carving workshops.
Like the cow from the same collection, this piece is signed on the underside, attributed to Sr. Ángel Cruz Solís. The signature has naturally faded over time but remains partially visible, consistent with age and genuine vintage examples.
Carved from copal wood and painted in a simple, traditional style, this figure reflects an earlier aesthetic—more sculptural and restrained compared to later, highly patterned alebrijes. Its form, proportions, and hand-painted details give it a strong, authentic folk art presence.
