Fair Trade Latin American Folk Art & Haitian Metal Wall Sculptures
FIGHT POVERTY WITH ART
Juan Luis Jose Medrano and Serapio Medrano Hernandez, sons of renowned ceramics sculptor Candelario Medrano changed the town from creating pipes and tiles to colorful sculpture for collections. For five generations, the Ortegas have been producing their distinctive style of decorative ceramic art in the town of Santa Cruz de las Huertas in Jalisco, Mexico . Each piece is a flight of fantasy, worked in clay by one of the fathers, mothers, sons, or daughters of the extended family. Their dogs and farm animals have an endearing Dr. Seuss-like quality, delightful to collect for "children" of all ages.
